Towie Pipe Band History - Part 1 Towie Band began life in 1978 as the Towie & District Piping Group. The Piping Group aimed “to provide instruction and promote interest in piping for all members of the local community.” Minutes of the first AGM held on 28th August 1978 saw Mr J Ross appointed as Chairman, Mr A Coutts elected as Secretary and Mr E Stuart voted on for Treasurer. Also present was instructor, Jimmy McCombie, who contributed much to the band over the years through teaching pipers - young and old. The original treasurer, Eddie Stuart, continues  to play an important and active role in the Towie Pipe Band. Next >
